Link love for the things that have kept me happy while my head’s been buried in homework for the past few weeks….

• I am unlucky enough to be the “keeper” of one of the fridges at my office, so this Seattle times article about fridge wars hit home for me.  I wonder if I can get away with date-stamping?
• Champagne cupcakes? Tres chic.
• These polenta dumplings stuffed with cheese look like ooey, gooey heaven.

Carnivals Galore!

• Wee Wifey hosted the Cereal Killers edition of the Carnival of the Recipes this week. My favorite recipe by far was the Overnight Caramel French Toast. (Our double-baked taters were included.)
• My recipe for addictive crack (AKA BBQ Chicken Pizza) was included in this month’s Pizza Carnival, along with an off-topic but very cute Ode to Beer.
• Last week’s Recipe Carnival was hosted by the Expatriate’s Kitchen, and the theme was Squash.  I am positively drooling over this Pumpkin-Bourbon Pudding recipe.  I totally spaced on submitting to this one, but I had planned to offer up my Honey-Glazed Acorn Squash.
• Next week’s Carnival of the Recipes will be hosted by the Readable Feast, and the theme is kids’ food.

This week’s Carnival of the Recipes was hosted at This Mama Cooks! with a diet theme. I’m not a big fan of diet recipes (I’m a big butter fan), but there were some incredible posts included. Some of my favorites: Pork Tenderloin with Grilled Peach-Ginger Chutney, Pumpkin Streusel Muffins, Roasted Garlic Turkey Burgers with Portobello Mushrooms, and Portuguese Pork Tenderloin. Our Ginger-Glazed Carrot Slaw was included.

• The New York Times reported on a new technique called gelatin filtration, designed to make consomme from strange things (like cheese, for instance.)
• Thanks to that NYT article, Ideas in Food is my new favorite blog.
• The folks at Chow were chock-full of information this week, with a list of foodie restaurants and an article that exposed how Magic Shell works.
• I know that Alton Brown believes in cake mixes, but I’m generally not a fan (except for one particular family recipe). It appears that Martha Stewart likes them, though, at least enough to sell them.
• Lobster with cheese. Let me say that again: lobster. With cheese.
• While we’re on the subject of food that just plain sounds divine, check out chocolate-coconut pudding, spicy fig jam, and peach and thyme polenta tart.
• This week’s Carnival of the Recipes was hosted by Food History, with a “memories” theme. My favorite recipes from this week were turtle candies, apple cider sauce, and chicken and dumplings. Our nutmeg sugar cookies were included. Check out the entire carnival here!

• I can’t wait to try these chile-spiked chocolate cakes.  I’m not a big fan of hot stuff, but I love the pairing of chiles and chocolate.
• Badly made terrines, with their gelatinized meats, may be a running culinary joke, but the coconut panna cotta and pineapple gelee terrine sounds like a summery burst of pina colada goodness.
• What can be better than dark chocolate sorbet? Well, maybe peach bruschetta.  Or a starry chocolate torte.  It’s all good.
• The Naked Chef is making a cartoon aimed at kids…here’s hoping it’s not called “The Naked Chef for Kids”.
• Leave it to BBC Food to list killer summer recipes for tomato watermelon feta salad and goat cheese and honey salad dressing.
• This week’s Carnival of the Recipes was hosted by DHM at The Common Room.
